Team Shaw experienced a power outage here, Aug. 18, at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The power outage was caused by a tree branch that fell on a power line.

"The blackout lasted about an hour-and-a-half," said Chief Master Sgt. Michael Joseph, 20th Mission Support Group superintendent. "The 20th Civil Engineer Squadron was quick to respond."

Within minutes of the blackout, 20th CES and 20th Security Forces Squadron Airmen were dispatched to the necessary locations.

"The Airmen did a phenomenal job during the blackout," said Joseph. "Security forces Airmen were awesome as they pulled traffic guard duty and the civil engineer Airmen did a great job getting the power back up."

Thanks to advanced training, the Airmen responded swiftly, ensuring minimal impediment of duty operations, said Joseph.
