Before aircraft take-off from Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. Airmen from the 20th Maintenance Group arm the missiles and perform a final function check and inspection to ensure there are no in-flight problems. While tactical aircraft maintainers and load crew members ensure all missiles are attached correctly and there are no piece from the aircraft are missing or broken, pilots check control functions in the cockpit.
