Diamond Sharp award recognition

Congratulations to Senior Airman Jessica Estrada, 28th Operational Weather Squadron weather forecaster, for being recognized as Diamond Sharp by the Shaw First Sergeant Council.

Estrada arrived at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, September of 2012.

In 2013, Estrada earned SrA Below the Zone, and in 2014 she was selected as U.S. Air Forces Central's Airman of the Year.

Estrada has produced approximately 2,000 site forecasts in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, directly supported distinguished visitor transport missions, and scored the highest possible score on the Defense Language Proficiency Test which qualified her for the Air Force level Language Enabled Airman Program.

Lastly, she dedicated over 40 hours to fundraisers in support of the 28th OWS Booster Club and the Team Shaw Diamond Council.

The Atwater, California native joined the Air Force in November 2011. She enjoys reading, painting, community involvement, and spending time with her cat.

Diamond Sharp, the First Sergeant Council's newly adopted program, aims to recognize two Airmen from across Shaw Air Force base monthly.
