Airmen from across the 20th Fighter Wing participated in operational readiness exercise Weasel Victory 14-07 here, June 23 and 24.

The Airmen simulated a deployment to "Base X" to demonstrate and evaluate war-fighting skills in a U.S. Central Command scenario and to effectively employ 20th FW aircraft.

"For these exercises it's extremely important that we give 100 percent," said Senior Airman Christian Arvelo, 20th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter. "These very things that we practice could happen down range, so we have to make sure we do our best."

Airmen of all ranks faced challenges similar to those that could be experienced in a deployed environment.

"We have to work as a team to get through this," said 2nd Lt. Kirsten Bunecke, 20th CPTS budget officer. "If we do that then when it's time for the real deal, we will be prepared."

Operational readiness exercises allow Airmen to test their abilities and see how they would react in a deployed environment.

"Exercises are important," said Arvelo. "It's allows us to really do our job, so that when it's time for the real deal, we're ready."
