The 2014 America's Kids Run was held here May 22.

The run took place at the Youth Sports Complex running trail and was guided by Larry Stegall, 20th Force Support Squadron Youth Sports Director, and Wally Frohling, 20th FSS Youth Sports assistant director.

The kids participating in the run were required to run set distances based on their age. The 5 and 6-year-olds ran one-half mile, the 7 and 8-year-olds ran 1 mile, and the 9 to 12-year-olds ran two-miles, with a finish line reward of an America's Kids Run t-shirt and the cheers of proud parents.

The top five in each age group also earned ribbons. Parents were encouraged to hit the track with their kids and many did.

Shaw had 146 kids participate in the run and 42 adults escorting them.

The run also had 38 individuals volunteer their time and efforts to keep the run safe and organized.
