Through a recent volunteer partnership with Kershaw County Habitat for Humanity, the 20th Force Support Squadron here has been able to assist in building a home in Camden S.C.

More than 45 Airmen from the 20th FSS and the 20th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron have dedicated more than 100 hours to the organization.

"It is a great way for Airmen to come together and help our community and at the same time have fun," said Airman 1st Class Dericka Nelson, 20th FSS Military Personnel Flight promotions apprentice. "Our core values include service before self, so this gives us a hands-on opportunity to assist in the community and see the immediate results of our efforts."

The four-bedroom house is being built for a Kershaw County family of five and is scheduled to be completed in June.

"We got to meet the family which was a good experience," said Staff Sgt. Lazarion Brown, 20th FSS dining facility shift lead. "It makes it more personal to know who you are working for."
