Twenty-four Airmen participated in chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear training here, March 18.

The Airmen participated in the class in order to prepare for upcoming deployments.

Airman 1st Class Cynthia Romero, 20th Civil Engineer Squadron emergency management apprentice, instructed the Airmen on the proper use of mission oriented protective posture gear, post-attack reconnaissance sweep procedures, and the different alarms used for certain situations.

"It is very important that people take this class," said Romero. "You never know when you might need these skills; you always have to be prepared when you go downrange."

The Airmen spent time in the classroom reviewing alarm procedures, equipment used on PAR sweeps, and testing on CBRN related situations. Following the classroom activities, the group went outside to perform PAR sweeps and have their MOPP gear inspected to ensure proper wear.

"We're an Air Force that always fights well," said Tech. Sgt. Dennis Jones, 20th CES engineering assistant. "Our main strength comes from being prepared, and this course helps us get ready for the challenges we may face."
