Forest City Residential Management turned over the keys to 18 new homes here, March 5.

The 18 homes were designated for senior NCOs who were residing in Shaw's older "legacy" homes.

"The old homes were built in the 1970s," said Naomi Hendricks, 20th Civil Engineer Squadron Housing Office housing program manager. "It was about time we were able to get the residents a new place to live."

Construction on housing designated for junior enlisted members is nearing completion and residents are scheduled to start moving in beginning April 1.

The old homes are being demolished in order to make room for more new homes, which are scheduled to be completed summer of 2015.

"I really like these new homes," said U.S. Army Master Sgt. Garry Qualls Jr., U.S. Army Central Command Public Affairs NCO in charge. "The place is really nice, it's very spacious. It's just nice to be able to move into a new place."
