The 20th Force Support Squadron held five briefings for enlisted Airmen here, covering the Air Force wide 2014 Force Management Program, Jan. 16 and 17.

The briefings were designed to help show Airmen what resources and options they have at their disposal while dealing with their respective situation.

On Jan. 16, the briefings consisted of information regarding the Quality Force Review Board. Any Airmen that had negative indicators or identifiers in their records, such as awaiting discharge with cause, loss of grade, or serving an Article 15 punishment, were flagged for this board.

Master Sgt. Heather Stanfield, 20th FSS superintendent of manpower and personnel flight, was in charge of the QFRB brief.

"Checking your virtual Military Personnel Flight and MyPers are some of the most important things you can do," said Stanfield. "Even personnelists make mistakes. You have to make sure you're accountable for your stuff, not anyone else's."

Airmen up for the QFRB with 6-15 years of continual service are eligible for separation pay if separated by the Air Force. Airmen with 15-18 years are eligible for the Temporary Early Retirement Authority Program and Airmen with more than 20 are able to apply for retirement.

On Jan. 17 the briefings focused on of the Enlisted Retention Board, and were briefed by Capt. Robert Doyon, 20th FSS chief of military personnel. The ERB is for Airmen in an over-manned career field within a certain grade level. These Airmen, senior airmen through senior master sergeants, have the same eligibility for separation as Airmen up for the QFRB.

"No specific career fields are being targeted," said Doyon. "People from all respective career fields are having their record compared to others all across the Air Force, and at the end of the day, the Air Force is only going to keep the best Airmen."

Airmen also have the option to contact the in-service recruiters to see if they are eligible for the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve, said Doyon.
