The Airman's Attic here is set to have a grand reopening Oct. 10.

The Airman's Attic helps Airmen ranked E-5 and below by providing no-cost items that help improve their quality of life. The Attic will be open 9:30am-12:30pm Tuesday and Thursdays.

Items from the Airman's Attic are donated by other Airmen, said Master Sgt. Lee Hanna Mendoza, the 609th Air Communications Squadron first sergeant.

Needed donations are household items, maternity uniforms, children's clothing and toys for the upcoming holiday season, said Mendoza.

Now through the grand reopening in October, the Airman's Attic is holding a donation drive. Items can be donated at anytime at the Attic, said Airman 1st Class Cheyenne Randolph, a staging manager with the 609th ACOMS.

"We're trying to get interest in the Airmen's Attic again," said Randolph. "It's all Airmen volunteering."

Randolph is the point of contact for the revamped Airman's Attic. She said that currently she is working on a unit volunteering schedule, so that everyone on Shaw can be a part of helping Airmen out.

Anyone interested in volunteering with the Airman's Attic, should contact 803-895-6276.
