The 20th Fighter Wing safety office is preparing Shaw members to stay safe during the Labor Day weekend, which coincides with the end of the critical days of summer.

"Commanders and supervisors at all levels need to stay actively engaged with their personnel and encourage them to apply risk management techniques in all of their activities," said Scott Eck, 20th FW ground safety manager.

It is advised by the wing safety office for individuals operating a vehicle to use seat belts, properly restrain children and drive within the posted speed limits. Motorcycle operators should ride defensively, wear all protective gear and operate at safe speeds, all while remembering to make good choices if consuming alcohol.

"Safety is important because it could save your life and the lives of others," said Senior Airman Sasha Brown, 20th FW knowledge operations manager.
