Lt. Col. David McKoy assumed command of the 20th Communications Squadron here, Aug. 14.

McKoy replaced Lt. Col. Kevin Wilson who served as the commander for the past year. The ceremony was presided over by Col. Scott Arcuri, 20th Mission Support Group commander.

Before leaving, Wilson thanked many people who he felt tremendously influenced his success as a commander; from the Airmen in his squadron, to his administrative senior enlisted and officer staff, to the civilians he worked closely with daily.

"I really hate that I have to leave," Wilson explained. "But I know I'm leaving the squadron in very capable hands."

McKoy also gave remarks during the ceremony, thanking those in positions of leadership for giving him the opportunity to lead the squadron.

"I can't thank Col. Hall (20th Fighter Wing commander) and Col. Arcuri enough for this awesome opportunity to lead," McKoy said. "It's a great honor."

The 20th CS is responsible for the upkeep (both hardware and software) of base computers, base servers, telephones, mail and much more.

McKoy said he is looking forward to maintaining the level of excellence in products and services that the 20th FW is accustomed to receiving.
