Team Shaw gathered at the Carolina Skies Club and Conference Center here, July 29 to honor new GS-15 civilian Keith Kellner, departing 20th Mission Support Group deputy director for installations. He celebrated his promotion with his friends and family as he took the next step forward in his career.

The rank of GS-15 is equivalent to the rank of colonel and less than one percent of civilians hold the grade of GS-15 or above. The pin that was affixed to Kellner's lapel during the ceremony has the same eagle as the colonel rank and will be worn every day.

"I have had the greatest experience being here," said Kellner. "The people here have been good to me. Shaw has been good to me."

"This was a first for me," said Col. Scott Arcuri, 20th Mission Support Group commander. "I've never been to, much less had the privilege of officiating, a civilian promotion ceremony. Since Mr. Kellner arrived here at Shaw as the deputy director for installations in March 2010, he has teamed with three different mission support group commanders to form an unparalleled leadership team."

"He has been an invaluable member of Team Shaw, of the entire Sumter community and a great ambassador of the 20th MSG and the 20th Fighter Wing," added Arcuri.

Kellner departs to Scott Air Force Base, Ill., as the operations divisions chief.
