Team Shaw held a Major Accident Response Exercise here, May 6, 2016.

The exercise was intended to prepare Airmen on base and their counterparts in the local community for the possiblity of a major accident or incident; in this case, a simulated aircraft collision.

Shaw enlisted help from agencies across base to play the parts of dead, injured, and hysterical people to give emergency responders a look at what they may face in a real-world situation.

MAREs are a tool used by the Department of Defense to prepare Airmen and emergency response teams for any situation, providing them with the tools they need to respond quickly and effectively.
