On June 29, 2016 charges were preferred against Col. William R. Jones, Headquarters Ninth Air Force Deputy Chief of Safety, previously assigned as the 20th Fighter Wing Vice Commander. The charges include possession of child pornography and obstruction of justice in violation of Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) Article 134. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 8, 2016 to conduct an inquiry into the matter. “The charges are being worked through the legal process outlined in the UCMJ, and Col. Jones is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law,” said Colonel Stephen Jost, 20th Fighter Wing Commander. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
