Col. Daniel Lasica, 20th Fighter Wing commander, held a commander’s call at the Carolina Skies Club and Conference Center here, Sept. 1.

This is his first commander’s call since he took command of the 20th FW on Aug. 19.

During the commander’s call, Lasica started by introducing himself and sharing a bit of his past, such as his family’s influence on his life and career, and his love for basketball.

Lasica urged Airmen in attendance to understand their true purpose and relevance in relation to the 20th FW mission of providing combat-ready Airmen and air power to meet any challenge, anytime, and anywhere.

“If we can communicate and understand that deeper level 'why', that purpose, then I think we can do anything,” said Lasica.

Lasica also listed his expectations as incoming commander and challenged 20th FW Airmen to: selflessly serve as a team player; be the master of their craft; and make a positive difference in everything they do both on- and off-base.

“Make your squadron, your group, your wing and your community what you want it to be,” said Lasica. “Make it better than when you arrived, and make yourself better than when you arrived as well.”
