Shaw celebrates holiday season with interfaith ceremony Published Nov. 28, 2017 By Airman 1st Class Benjamin Ingold 20th Fighter Wing Public Affairs SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – This week’s #FlashbackFriday highlights the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Religious Display Interfaith Ceremony at the Friendship Chapel at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The 20th Fighter Wing Chaplain Corps hosted the ceremony which included holiday stories originating from the Eastern Christian, Western Christian, Wiccan/Pagan and Jewish religions. The event included a performance by the Shaw Heights Elementary School choir. The annual event presents an opportunity for Team Shaw members of all faiths to come together and celebrate the holiday season. This year’s holiday tree lighting is scheduled to take place at 5:30 p.m., Nov. 29, at the Friendship Chapel.
