Shaw Spotlight: Geraldine Williams

This week's Shaw Spotlight is Geraldine Williams of the 20th Force Support Squadron, a Carolina Pines housekeeper from Sumter, S.C.

Williams has been working at Shaw for 31 years. She started working at the club as a bus person for four years before transferring over to lodging, where she has been employed as a housekeeper for about 27 years.

According to Valerie Bernier, Carolina Pines housekeeping manager, Williams sets a perfect example for the housekeeping staff of the Carolina Pines Inn.

Williams has been noted on numerous comment cards from guests for her attention to detail as well as her friendliness.

Williams loves taking time away from work to enjoy her children and grandchildren and also likes to travel.

Bernier states that Geraldine will without a doubt be missed when she retires.

Family: U.S. Army Cpl. Frank N. Williams Sr. (deceased), two sons and a daughter.

Favorite quote: The Bible's 23rd Psalm, "The Lord is my shepherd."

Music: Williams enjoys a variety of music.

Movies: "The Help"

Biggest accomplishment: "Having my children, and watching them grow into the wonderful adults that they have become."

Favorite foods: Geraldine enjoys fried chicken with mac & cheese.

Heroes: My parents, and children.

Goal: To retire in 2013 and to complete a course on computers.
