This week's Shaw Spotlight is Airman 1st Class Amy Armstrong, a 20th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment apprentice from Virginia Beach, Va.

Armstrong has been at Shaw since January 2012. Before joining the military, she had never turned a wrench which she says is why she picked her job. As it's something she had never done before, Armstrong felt it would be a different experience that she would enjoy.

"When you stop doing things for fun, you might as well be dead," said Armstrong.

"Armstrong is an extremely hard worker," said Staff Sgt. Dorothy Driscoll, 20th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment journeyman." Being a female in this career field can be difficult, but she handles it well. She always maintains a positive attitude and doesn't let it get to her."
