Shaw Spotlight: Spc. Brian L. Burkette

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. --  This week's Third Army/ARCENT Soldier of the week, Spc. Brian L. Burkette, quarter master, chemical equipment repair joined Third Army/ARCENT from his previous duty station at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Ga in October 2011. Burkette entered the U.S. Army in 2005 leaving his home of New Port, RI. Since entering the U.S.Army, Burkette has deployed twice to Iraq; once in 2007 and again in 2010 and returned from Kuwait July 2012 after spending a month there. Burkette's aspiration is to conquer new goals as he plans to depart from the Army in October 2013 to reside in the great state of Georgia.

What is your favorite movie genre?
Action.

What is your favorite food?
Lasagna.

What are your goals?
To start an organization to help former Veterans.

What are you most proud of?
To have been able to help my fellow Soldiers.

What are your hobbies?
I like to cook, play video games, currently I play Dragons Dogma and I like to listen to music.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want with you? 
A weapon, someone to hold and reading material.

If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
My dad; who died in 2008 because he was the one who gave me my values to prepare me for life.
