Editor's note: The Warrior of the Week Program is a program designed to honor Shaw's servicemembers who exemplify the Core Values.

This week's Warrior of the Week is Senior Airman Michael Westbrook, 20th Component Maintenance Squadron fuel systems journeyman, from Columbus, Miss.

He ensures components in the jet tanks are running properly so the jet will stay in the air.

"Westbrook came into the fuels section as a hard charger," said 2nd Lt. Thomas Fister, 20th CMS accessories flight commander. "He took all of the three-level airmen and set up an outstanding training/testing program for the section. This has been awesome to watch, as all the new Airmen are extremely eager to work the jets and learn about the entire fuels system due to Westbrook's enthusiasm. He has always been the first to take the lead on aircraft work since arriving in the last eight weeks and he has qualified six technicians on proper hydrazine response procedures. His extra duty is supply/bench stock and he has made sure that bench stock for upcoming deployments are ordered and ready to go."

Westbrook said he loves working on the jets, because when he does he doesn't have to think about anything else but the task at hand.
