Editor's note: The Warrior of the Week program recognizes outstanding Airmen here who exemplify the Air Force's Core Values.

This week's Warrior of the Week is Airman 1st Class Marco Cruz, 20th Medical Support Squadron medical laboratory technician, from San Benito, Texas.

Cruz's job is to run lab tests and be the eyes and ears for the doctors on any body fluids.

"Cruz is a very well-rounded Airman. He is always punctual, cordial and doesn't need to be told what needs to be done...he just does it," said Master Sgt. Lisa Yockel, 20th MDSS clinical laboratory flight NCOIC. "In the last month he has volunteered for the July 4th extravaganza, he became a member of the Dorm Council and found time to help set up the Combat Dining Out. He comes in early every morning to start up the lab so analyzers are prepped and ready to go when patients arrive, and as of yesterday he has taken on the 20th Medical Group UFMP position. On top of all that, he is a dynamic lab tech, always studying during his downtime, asking questions about alternate procedures and researching patient diagnosis to learn more about them".

His favorite part of the job is being able to work with the doctors.
