National Child Abuse Prevention month

A child’s eyes fill with tears as her voice is silenced during a posed photograph depicting child abuse in order to promote National Child Abuse Prevention month, at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., March 30, 2015. Childwelfare.gov designates the month of April as NCAP month in acknowledgement of the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and families. Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the U.S. involving more than 6 million children, (according to childhelp.org).
