Meal deduction:do Airmen really need it?

Meal deduction amounts, as well as other deductions and expenditures can be found on an Airman’s leave and earning statement, which is updated monthly. Once Airmen move out of the dorms or have other extenuating circumstances that prevent them from regularly eating at the dining facility, they receive their basic allowance for subsistence back. Once off the meal plan Airmen are then able to eat and purchase food from facilities of their choosing. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Daniel Blackwell/Released)
