Team Shaw build community pride in students
Airman 1st Class Josh Calhoun and Staff Sgt. David Yarber, 20th Force Support Squadron honor guard members, visit Wilson Drive Elementary School, Sumter, S.C., to speak to fourth graders about their jobs and their role in the community Sept. 6, 2012. Other members of the local community that attended include representatives from law enforcement, the fire department, volunteer groups, the local government, the education system, hospitals and Shaw Air Force Base. They all gathered at the school as part of a program, called My Community and Me, to expand the students’ knowledge of the community, the local government’s structure, and the community’s history.
