Shaw Field 70th Anniversary

Retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Bill Skroch, (right) presents U.S. Air Force Col. Moore, 20th Fighter Wing commander, with the Flight 70 Palmetto Order of Daedalian at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. Sept. 20, 2011. The Flight 70 Palmetto Order of Daedalian was awarded to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the activation of Shaw Field. The art work features Lieutenant Burton M. Hover, Jr., flying in a formation of Boeing P-12 biplanes in the 1930s. Hovey is in aircraft number seven.
