Shaw Firefighters compete at world comptetion
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Staff Sgt. Steven Thomas, 20th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, bursts through the doors and sprays the target during the World Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge Nov. 13th. The competition is considered "the toughest two minutes in sports" and seeks to encourage firefighters' fitness, as well as demonstrates the challenges of the profession to the public. Shaw firefighters placed 16th among 175 different teams from across the U.S., as well as from France, Germany, Slovenia, Canada and New Zealand at the competition.
