Airman 1st Class Spencer Donnellan, 332nd Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron Phase Inspection Section aircraft mechanic, compares a new inlet duct gasket with an old one during periodic maintenance on an F-16 jet fuel starter Aug. 7, 2010 at Joint Base Balad, Iraq. The work was performed as part of the periodic 400-hour serving of the aircraft. Phase inspections are thorough programs of preventative maintenance and inspection performed on the multi-role fighter jets every 400, 800 and 2,400 flying hours.
