Radio show dates to World War II

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- The Sumter Radio Station broadcast "Cadet News" and entertainment from 1942 to 1944. Today, listeners can tune to WDXY 1240 AM or 105.9 FM from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. the first and third Friday each month for "Touching Base."
