Shooter reunion
LAS VEGAS - Retired U.S. Air Force Col. James Hare, who commanded the 55th Fighter Squadron "Shooters" in 1947, visits with Lt. Col. Doug "Cinco" DeMaio, 55th FS commander, after a reunion banquet March 6. As one of nearly 20 Shooter alumni attending the reunion, Hare shared stories of missions he flew during World War II. "I wanted our young fighter pilots to meet those who fought in WWII and Korea," DeMaio said." (U.S. Air Force photo/2nd Lt. Emily Chilson)
