SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- An Elgin watch sits on a napkin and silver ceremonial platter before its presentation to Donald Cole Walters, son of fallen World War II B-17 pilot Capt. Donald Cole at the Asheville, N.C. National Guard Armory Dec 28. The timepiece was standard issue for Army Air Force Aviators. Being an accountable item, the watch's serial number was used to trace the name of its last owner, Capt. Donald Cole. (U.S. Air Force photo/A1C Kathrine McDowell)
