Change of command
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Army Lt. Gen. R. Steven Whitcomb, 3rd Army Commanding General, U.S. Army Central; Army Col. Kevin Felix (left), incoming 4th Battlefield Coordination Detachment commander; and Army Col. Glenn Harp, outgoing 4th BCD commander, salute the colors at the beginning of a change of command ceremony Aug. 29. Created on July 26, 2005, the mission of the 4th BCD is to serve as the liaison between the combined forces land component commander and the combined forces air component commander. The 4th BCD made its first scheduled deployment in August 2006 to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and operations in the Horn of Africa.
