F-16 Modification
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Staff Sgt. Todd Steele, 20th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, works on an F- 16 as he tries to loosen a part from the jet Sept. 9. Shaw maintainers and the depot field team from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, work together to accomplish the new modification of the F-16. The beyond-line-of-sight satellite communication radios being installed allow the F-16 to utilize satellite communications to talk with units outside line-of-sight. The end result is a greatly extended range of communication. (US Air Force Photo/Senior Airman David Minor)
