Red Flag 09-4
NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- After landing, 77th Fighter Squadron F-16CJs stop for end-of-runway checks before the pilots taxi back to their parking row. Red Flag exercises allow new pilots to train in an environment similar to that which they would experience in a deployed location. As a combat aircrew member gains experience in a combat environment, it is proven that his or her effectiveness and survival rate will also improve. (U.S. Air Force photo/2nd Lt. Emily Chilson)
