Shaw celebrates Earth Day

Volunteers from Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., remove a shopping cart April 22, 2006, from the Shot Pouch Creek in Sumter, S.C. The creek cleanup was one of four events planned for Earth Day. Volunteers picked up more than 1,200 pounds of trash from the creek and surrounding area. The other events wer the Chapel Pond beautification and an electronic waste collection on Shaw and a cleanup project at the Manchester State Forest.
