Three Air Force career fields make one 'fab' flight
BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- An Airman, assigned to the 332nd Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Fabrication Flight fashions a piece of metal into an aircraft component using a computer numerical controlled lathe here, June 10. The CNC lathe allows the Airmen to enter and store codes into the machine that tells it the dimensions the component should be. The Fabrication Flight Airmen fix and build aircraft components needed to fly F-16s, C-130s, unmanned aerial vehicles, helicopters and Army assets. The Airmen complete approximately 1,400 jobs monthly. (U.S. Air Force photo /Staff Sgt. John Ayre)
