Airman electrifies metal during weld
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Matthew Neale, 20th Equipment Maintenance Squadron metals technologist journeyman, welds a crack on a toe bar, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., April 2, 2014. Neale was welding the crack with aluminum by using tungsten inert gas welding which uses an electric current to melt the aluminum. Airmen who work in the 20th EMS metals technology shop use their welding skill set to support the 20th Maintenance Group which maintains the 20th Fighter Wing’s 88 F-16CJ Fighting Falcons.
