Committed Airman wins local award
A statue of the American Bald Eagle, the national bird of the U.S.A., attached to the Military Citizen of the Year award, is displayed in the office of Master Sgt. John Yassu, 20th Maintenance Group first sergeant, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Feb. 14, 2014. The award is given by the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce to a military member at Shaw Air Force Base, who is an active volunteer supporting functions on base and within the local community.
