Airmen immerse into the air combat mission

U.S. Air Force Capt. James Byrd, 55th Fighter Squadron D-Flight commander, F-16 instructor pilot, demonstrates different maneuvers the F-16CM Fighting Falcon pilots use during the Operations Immersion Program at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., June 9, 2015. During the program, Airmen sat through the different briefs pilots undertake for their mission, as well as received a tour of the weapons load barn where 55th FS personnel described the different munitions they use as well as different aspects the F-16 is capable of, and then the Airmen were able to attempt to fly in a flight simulator.
