Team Shaw, Sumter community fortify local ecosystem
U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. William Miller, U.S. Air Forces Central Command chief of intel integration, and his son Joey, plant longleaf pine saplings at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Jan. 23, 2016. More than 20 Team Shaw volunteers and 14 Boy and Cub Scouts helped plant approximately 500 trees around Shaw in an effort to reintroduce the native trees to the local ecosystem after decades of deforestation.
