DOD makes cents of scraps
A machine used by the contractors crushes a BDU-33 bomb during a demilitarizing process for munitions dropped at Poinsett Electronic Combat Range, Wedgefield, S.C., Aug. 20, 2015. In Fiscal Year 2012 and 2013, eight ranges assigned to Air Combat Command, Air Force Special Operations Command, and the Air National Guard, processed 6,087 tons of munitions and target debris bringing in approximately $1.24 million to the Air Force.
