Air Force celebrates 68th birthday
On Sept. 18, 1947, President Harry S. Truman signed the National Security Act of 1947, activating the U.S. Air Force creating a new branch in the military that covers air, space, and cyberspace threats and protects the U.S. citizens against all enemies, foreign and domestic. On Sept. 18, the U.S. Air Force will celebrate 68 years of providing protection and service to the U.S. citizens. (Courtesy graphic)
