Savor the Flavor of Eating Right
March is National Nutrition Month, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ annual nutrition education and information campaign. The AND’s campaign, the theme of which for 2016 is “Savor the Flavor of Eating Right,” encourages Americans to make informed food choices and develop sound eating and physical activity habits. Recent research by the Food and Drug Administration shows that nutrition-rich whole foods are more beneficial to the human body than the isolated vitamins and nutrients found in supplements and pills. American adults are advised to adopt a diet rich in lean proteins, whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables as opposed to relying on manufactured vitamins and supplements to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
