20th EMS opens newly renovated paint booth
U.S. Airmen stand in front of the 20th Equipment Maintenance Squadron’s newly renovated paint booth at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., May 5, 2016. An aircraft’s protective paint coating provides a corrosion barrier between the metal and the environment that prevents damage to the substructure, extending the overall life of the aircraft. The updates to the paint booth include replacing both air handler units, new lights, replacing the exhaust fans and the addition of a fourth fan.
