Thunder Over the Midlands
Two U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron F-16 Fighting Falcons pass each other at high speeds during the 2016 Shaw Air Expo and open house, “Thunder Over the Midlands,” at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., May 21. Since the Thunderbirds’ inception in 1953, more than 350 million people in all 50 states and more than 60 countries have witnessed the jets in thousands of aerial demonstrations.
