9th AF commander provides 3rd level of certification for ACC F-16 Viper Demonstration Team pilot
U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Scott J. Zobrist, 9th Air Force commander, communicates with an Air Combat Command F-16 Viper Demonstration Team pilot at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Jan. 20, 2017, as part of a certification process. The process showcases the upcoming year’s demonstration, as well as certifies the new demo team pilot on the maneuvers used. The team exhibits the F-16CM Fighting Falcon’s qualities as a highly maneuverable, multi-role fighter aircraft that provides air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack capabilities, including suppression of enemy air defenses and close air support.
