September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month across the United States. During this month, the Air Force strives to build healthy, empowered and resilient Airmen. Airmen are also asked to be there for their wingmen because their actions could save a life. Resources available to individuals facing every day challenges include military family life consultants at base family readiness centers and local chaplains. Service members may also receive peer support by contacting the Defense Department BeThere Peer Support Call and Outreach Center at 844-357-7337. For urgent assistance, individuals may also contact a local chaplain, mental health clinic, medical center or the Military Crisis Line at 800-273-8255. (Courtesy graphic)
