Shaw Air Force Base’s uniformed and civilian civil engineers work closely with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) to identify local water sources with a presence of perfluorooctane sulfonate and perfluorooctanoic acid at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., April 20, 2022. Based on the results of sampling these water sources, Shaw civil engineers and SCDHEC have developed an appropriate course of action to ensure the health of Team Shaw and the local community.
