Shaw Reaper squadron to activate, appoint first commander Published Feb. 26, 2018 20th Fighter Wing Public Affairs SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- The 50th Attack Squadron will activate and host an assumption of command during a ceremony here, Feb. 27, 2018, at 10 a.m. Col. Joseph Campo, commander of the 432nd Operations Group at Creech Air Force Base, will preside over the ceremony in which Lt. Col. David John will assume command of the squadron. The 50th ATKS is a subordinate unit of the 432nd OG. The squadron, which operates MQ-9 Reaper aircraft, will bring operators to Shaw, but no additional aircraft will relocate as a result of the activation.
