20th Fighter Wing Change of Command

Col. Joseph Guastella is scheduled to relinquish command of the 20th Fighter Wing to Col. Charles Moore at a change of command ceremony here Friday. The ceremony is set to take place at Hangar 1200 at 9:20 a.m.

Prior to taking command of the 20th FW, Colonel Moore was serving as the Vice Director of Operations, Headquarters, North American Aerospace Defense Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. He also served as the commander of the 332d Expeditionary Operations Group, Balad AB, Iraq.

As the 20th FW commander, Colonel Moore will lead the Air Force's largest F-16 combat wing in its mission to maintain readiness to deploy and employ combat forces in support of operation wartime requirements worldwide. He will assume responsibility for a 19-squadron wing including three F-16 squadrons, which totals more than 80 F-16CJ Fighting Falcons worth more than $2 billion. He will also be responsible for about 6,000 military and 1,000 civilian members assigned here.

Colonel Guastella has been 20th FW commander since October 2008. He will proceed to his next assignment at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.
